Some farmers say recent heavy rainfall in Southeast Ontario has cost them significant amounts of crop.
"We're trying to get the last of the remaining water off the field from Sunday's rain, this field over here was completely flooded on Sunday," Jason Verkaik of Carron Farms, said Tuesday.
"That's unheard of for this time of year you don't see that ever, you don't see that ever," Ron Vanhart of Vanhart Greenhouses, said.
Flooding restricts plants from getting oxygen and that means they can't grow.
Farmers say they are hoping for cloudy and breezy weather because hot, sunny weather could cause the earth to crust.
The Ontario Federation of Agriculture said Tuesday that consumers are not likely to pay more for vegetables because prices are set internationally.
