The military says a Sea King had to make an emergency landing in April because of a cracked fitting on the main gear box.
The aircraft was forced to land on Shut-In Island after the crew smelled fumes.
Another cracked fitting was found on a Sea King in British Columbia last week, so the military is inspecting the entire fleet.
Twenty-one of the 28 Sea Kings have been inspected and cleared so far and the inspection isn't expected to affect flights at Shearwater.
