The final page has turned for a Winnipeg magazine. Perimeter, a biweekly alternative paper, has folded.

Six people will lose their jobs, along with about 20 freelancers and contractors.

Publisher Joanna Zuk says in the end, the company had too much competition, and not enough capital.

"It has to do with volume, it has to do with the costs of putting out a publication, everything from the cost of printing, to distribution, to freelance staff and full time staff," she says. "And sometimes you anticipate growth at a faster rate than it occurs."

Zuk says the company will pay all its remaining debts, and keep collecting payment from its clients.

She estimates the paper was read by as many as 40,000 people.
