People flocked to the Rideau Carleton Raceway for the grand opening of its slot casino.
On Friday dozens waited to be among the first to play the 1250 one-armed bandits. It was the public's day to try their luck. On Wednesday the media and special guests got a sneak preview of the excitement.
Now that Ottawa-Carleton's first slot casino is officially open, the question is whether it will have an impact on business across the bridge at the Hull Casino."
Some of the first patrons at the raceway casino say they will stay in Ontario because it's closer. Others just want to keep their money in Ontario.
Officials at Hull Casino aren't too concerned though. They're overseeing the construction of a 4-star hotel, and a convention facility next door.
