Some families of the victims of Swissair Flight 1-11 met on Tuesday with the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington.

A group calling itself the International Aviation Safety Association is meeting with FAA chief, Tom McSweeney. The group is led by Lynn Romano, whose husband Raymond died in the crash off Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia a year ago.

The group is urging the F.A.A. to follow through on promises of stiffer regulations to ensure flight safety.

U-S President Bill Clinton made a similar promise in a letter which was read during a Swissair memorial service held last week.
