Two days of Swissair ceremonies in Nova Scotia concluded Thursday night with an interfaith candlelight service on Citadel Hill.

Hundreds of Nova Scotians joined volunteers and Swissair family members to remember the 229 people who were killed last year off Peggy's Cove.

The moment the Swissair jet hit the ocean was marked by the tolling of a ship bell. It was followed by a moment of silence.

Earlier in the service, family members and those who took part in the search and recovery operation lit 229 candles and placed them on the edge of the stage.
