The Liberals kept their near lock on the Outaouais, holding on to four of the region's five seats.
The Outaouais region returned all of its incumbents.
En route to the near sweep of the region, Liberal candidate Marc Carrière handily defeated Action Démocratique du Québec MNA Gilles Taillon in Chapleau. Taillon was the party's second-in-command who recently moved to the riding after winning in Chauveau for the ADQ in 2007.
Carrière carried about 51 per cent of the vote for the Liberals. The PQ candidate Yves Morin earned 27 per cent of the vote.
Taillon finished in third place with about 14 per cent of the vote.
In the riding of Hull, a long-time bastion for the Liberals, Maryse Gaudreault was re-elected in a seat she recently took in a byelection.
The Liberals also kept their grip on the ridings of Gatineau and Pontiac. Stéphanie Vallée was re-elected in Gatineau and Charlotte L'Écuyer was re-elected in Pontiac.
The Parti Québécois kept the riding of Labelle, which it has maintained since 1989, in its win column. The PQ's Sylvain Pagé won with 52 per cent of the vote.
