The Liberals hung on to their six seats in the Eastern Townships on Monday night, leaving the Parti Québécois and the Action Démocratique du Québec with just one each.
Liberal MNAs were re-elected in Brome-Missisquoi, Mégantic-Compton, Orford and Richmond, while Liberal Leader Jean Charest won his Sherbrooke seat and International Relations Minister Monique Gagnon-Tremblay was victorious in Saint-François.
The PQ's Étienne-Alexis Boucher won the riding of Johnson, taking it from the ADQ's Éric Charbonneau. Johnson was traditionally a PQ riding, but the ADQ won it in the 2007 election.
ADQ labour critic François Bonnardel took Shefford by 63 votes, a riding he won in 2007 by almost 6,000 votes.
