The Liberals have clenched the first victory in the Quebec election, with Liberal Yvon Marcoux getting re-elected in the riding of Vaudreuil, CBC News projects.
With about six per cent of the ballots counted, Marcoux was leading with nearly 60 per cent of the vote. The Parti Québécois's Claude Turcotte had around 30 per cent of the vote.
The Action Démocratique du Québec's Lucie Boudreault had about eight per cent of the vote.
Vaudreuil is a suburban riding just west of Montreal.
