PQ Leader Pauline Marois invited a pack of journalists on a Friday morning hike up Montreal's Mount Royal Park, putting to rest rumours that her health and stamina may be slowing down her campaign.
"You thought I was sick," she said, walking at a very brisk pace with about a dozen journalists trying to keep up with her early Friday. "I'm not sick. I'm in very good shape."
Marois challenged the media to the hike after two La Presse reporters published a story quoting unidentified sources who questioned her health. She hoped her daily exercise regimen of power walking would put an end to those questions.
La Presse reporter Tommy Chouinard, who co-wrote the story questioning Marois's health told the Montreal Gazette after the hike, "She is in really good shape."
"It's what I'm doing every morning, so I accept your presence with me here now," Marois said.
