In 1992 redistribution, kept all existing riding and gained small part from D'Arcy-McGee and part of Outremont.

1973–1985

Liberal John Ciaccia won in 1973, 1976, 1981 and 1985. Appointed minister of energy and resources, Dec. 12, 1985.

1989

Ciaccia defeated Equality Party Nat Bernstein by 5,165 votes. Appointed minister of international affairs and minister responsible for native affairs, October 1989. Served as minister of immigration and cultural communities, January to September 1994.

1994

Ciaccia defeated Parti Québécois's Magda Greiss by 19,100 votes.

1998

Liberal André Tranchemontagne defeated Parti Québécois's André Normandeau by 20,498 votes.

2003

Liberal Phillip Couillard defeated Parti Québécois's Vincent Gagnon by 17,434 votes.

2007

Liberal Pierre Arcand defeated Parti Québécois's Zhao Xin Wu.
