Riding profile: Part of Lac-St-Jean region; La Baie, Laterrière are the biggest towns.

Dubuc contains the municipalities of Bégin, Ferland-et-Boilleau, L'Anse-Saint-Jean, Petit-Saguenay, Rivière-Éternité, Saint-Ambroise, Saint-Charles-de-Bourget, Saint-David-de-Falardeau, Saint-Félix-d'Otis, Saint-Fulgence, Saint-Honoré and Sainte-Rose-du-Nord.

It also contains the Mont-Valin region and Saguenay except for the towns of Chicoutimi, Jonquière and Lac-Kénogami.

Riding history: Riding created before 1966 election from parts of Chicoutimi and Jonquière-Kénogami.

Minor changes in redistribution before 1989 and 1994 elections.

In 2001 redistribution, lost to Charlevoix riding the Saagard region (164 electors) in the southeast corner, 0.4 per cent of riding.

Liberal Ghislain Harvey defeated Parti Québécois's André Desgagné. Union Nationale's Roch Boivin was third.

1976, 1981 and 1985

Parti Québécois's Hubert Desbiens defeated Liberal Harvey. Desbiens was re-elected in 1981 and 1985.

1989

Parti Québécois's Gérard R. Morin defeated Liberal Antonin Tremblay.

1994

Parti Québécois's Morin defeated Liberal Jeanne Lavoie.

1998

Parti Québécois's Jacques Côté defeated Liberal Claude Richard. Appointed minister of housing, Jan. 30, 2002.

2003

Parti Québécois's Côté defeated Liberal Johnny Simard by 44 votes.

2007

Parti Québécois's Côté defeated Action Démocratique du Québec's Robert Émond.
