Located on the north-east shore of Deux-Montagnes Lake, west of Montreal, Deux-Montagnes riding contains the towns of Deux-Montagnes and Saint-Eustache. Kanesatake is also in the riding.

Riding history: Riding created in 1853. No change in 1988 and 1992 redistributions.

In 2001 redistribution, kept 71 per cent of riding; 29 per cent moved to new Mirabel riding.

Political history: 1960-1973 inclusive - LIB 1976, 1981 - PQ 1985, 1989 - LIB 1994, 1998, 2003 - PQ 2007 - ADQ

1995 sovereignty referendum: Yes - 57.32 per cent; No - 42.68 per cent

1970, 1973	Liberal Jean-Paul L'Allier won in 1970 and 1973. Appointed minister of communications, 1970; minister of civil service, 1970-72; 1970-76 , responsible for office of Franco-Québécois pour la Jeunesse. Minister of communications, 1973; minister of cultural affairs, 1975-76.
1976	Parti Québécois's Pierre de Bellefeuille defeated Liberal L'Allier.
1981	Parti Québécois's de Bellefeuille defeated Liberal Yvon Belair. Left PQ caucus to sit as an Independent on Nov. 20, 1984, one of several to leave after René Lévesque stated that sovereignty should not be an issue in the next campaign.
1985	Liberal Yolande Legault defeated Parti Québécois's Yves Lauzon. Pierre de Bellefeuille, running for the Parti Indépendantiste, was third with 2,274 votes.
1989	Liberal Jean-Guy Bergeron defeated Parti Québécois's Hélène Robert by 515 votes. Bergeron had been the riding's Union Nationale candidate in 1966, 1970.
1994	Parti Québécois's Robert defeated Liberal Francine Labelle.
1998	Parti Québécois's Robert defeated Liberal Robert Fragasso.
2003	Parti Québécois's Robert defeated Liberal Marc Lauzon.
2007	Action Démocratique du Québec's Lucie Leblanc defeated Parti Québécois's Daniel Goyer.
