Riding history: Borduas was created in the 1992 redistribution from a large part of Verchères riding and small area from Iberville. There was no change in 2001 redistribution.

Parti Québécois's Jean-Pierre Charbonneau defeated Liberal Marcel Ostiguy.

1981, 1985

Parti Québécois's Charbonneau was re-elected in 1981 and 1985 before stepping down to go to Africa on a humanitarian mission.

1989

Parti Québécois's Luce Dupuis defeated Liberal Jean-Pierre Beauchesne by 699 votes

Borduas

1994

Parti Québécois's Charbonneau, former MNA in Verchères, returned to politics and defeated Liberal Laurier Thibault. Became Speaker of the national assembly on March 12, 1996.

1998

Parti Québécois's Charbonneau defeated Liberal Yves Hennekens. Served as speaker until Jan. 30, 2002. Minister responsible for parliamentary reform and minister responsible for electoral reform, Jan. 30 - March 12, 2002; appointed minister for Canadian intergovernmental affairs, minister responsible for relations with French-speaking and Acadian communities, Jan. 30, 2002; appointed minister responsible for reform of democratic institutions, March 13, 2002.

2003

Parti Québécois's Charbonneau defeated Liberal Daniel Doucet.

2007

Parti Québécois's Pierre Curzi defeated Action Démocratique du Québec's Claude Gauthier.
