View these results in the interactive map »Riding profile: Abitibi-Est is located in northwestern Quebec and includes the municipalities of Barraute, Belcourt, Malartic, Rivière-Héva, Senneterre and Val-d'Or. It also includes the southeastern portion of Rouyn-Noranda, the First Nation settlements and reserves of Kitcisakik, Lac-Simon, the localities and hamlets of Beattyville, Colonie-Fournière, Rapide-Deux and Rapide-Sept; and the following unorganized territories: Lac-Fouillac, Lac Granet, Lac-Metei, Matchi-Manitou and Réservoir-Dozois. Part of the unorganized territory of Lac-Despinassy is also in the riding.

Riding history: Riding was created in 1944 from part of the Abitibi riding, which was divided in two: Abitibi-Est and Abitibi-Ouest.
Minor changes were made in redistributions before 1989 and 1994 elections.
Minor changes were made in 2001 redistribution - no electors moved.
