Air Canada charges extra if you check more than one piece of luggage:
1.) Fact: Beginning this summer, travellers on Air Canada's Tango or Tango Plus will be charged $25 for a second piece of checked luggage. However, if passengers opt for carry-on only a deduction is available. Read more

Air Canada, US Airways and West Jet are now charging a fuel tax:
2.) Fact: Air Canada introduced fuel surcharges of $40 return for flights of less than 480 kilometres, $80 return on flights between 480 kilometres and 1,600 kilometres and $120 for longer flights. WestJet followed suit by boosting ticket prices for short-haul flights by $20, and adding $30 for medium-range flights, and $45 for long-haul flights. Both airlines have taken the lead from a number of American airlines, including US Airways. Read more

You can currently talk on your cell phone on all flights in Europe:
3.) Myth: Though the European Union opened the way for air travelers to use mobile phones on planes in Europe, airlines have yet to launch onboard mobile services. Several airlines, including Lufthansa, have no plans to allow cell phones on their flights. Read more

Liquids allowed on board in carry-on luggage can't be more than 100 ml:
4.) Fact: According to the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority containers must be 100 ml/100 g (3.4 oz.) or less. These containers must be placed in one clear, closed and resealable plastic bag no larger than one litre (one quart). Only one bag is allowed per person. Read more

You must check in one hour before your flight or you may not be able to get on board:
5.) Fact: Passengers should arrive one hour before departure time for a domestic flight and two hours before an international departure. Read more
