Satirical talk show host Stephen Colbert took his bid for the Republican presidential nomination to South Carolina Friday — and he brought Herman Cain with him.

"The Rock Me Like a Herman Cain South Cain-olina Primary Rally" in Charleston, S.C., drew a huge crowd at the College of Charleston, one day before Saturday's vote in the conservative southern state.

Colbert announced last week he was "exploring" a campaign for the GOP nomination and would appear at the South Carolina primary this weekend, although he is not on the ballot and the rules there don't allow write-in votes.

So, Colbert is suggesting that any votes for Cain, who suspended his nomination bid last month, should be seen as counting for him.
