(Sean Kilpatrick/Canadian Press)Prime Minister Stephen Harper is off to Singapore to take part in an Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation summit, which is expected to focus on the global economic recovery and trade flows.

Harper will meet with the leaders of 21 Asia-Pacific countries.

The trip to Singapore is the first of several international trips the prime minister has scheduled in November and early December.

From Singapore, Harper and his wife Laureen will be in India from Monday to Wednesday. Canada recently opened trade offices in Hyderabad, Calcutta and Ahmedabad.

Harper is slated to be in China from Dec. 2-6.
