Headgear and politicians don't mix

There are a couple of good rules to live by in politics: don't eat on
camera. Quebec Premier Jean Charest lives by that and he's not wrong. Mustard + shirt = disaster.

And stay away from headgear of any kind.

I don't think I have to remind you of Gilles
Duceppe's 1997 cheese factory hair net disaster. He was endlessly mocked in papers and on satirical
programs for the less than stellar look.

Others have done it too. Stockwell Day put a tie around his head: never a
good look.

The one exception to this rule may be the Calgary stampede: where you will
survive longer in politics if you do the cowboy hat rather than not.

Anyway, this leads us to this week. Interim Liberal leader Bob Rae is on a
skills and trades tour of Canada and for unknown reasons this requires him to
don various items of headgear.
Like this and this.

Well, Bob Rae is a veteran politician, but maybe he hasn't learned the headgear rule yet. So we're giving him a little help ... hit the jump for the results.
