TBS Prez Tony Clement talks open data at 'first ever' ministerial Google+ hangout

UPDATE - The mystery of the edited advisory has been solved: Apparently, a brash young federally elected upstart by the name of Justin Trudeau had the temerity to hold a Google+ Hangout of his own yesterday afternoon -- just one day before the minister was set to take that title. 

On the virtual guest list: David Eaves, Big Viking Games CEO Albert Lai, Socrata founder Kevin Merritt, Open Data Ottawa founder Edward Ocampo-Gooding, XMG Studio chair Ray Sharma and Stephen Walker, senior director of the chief information officer branch at Treasury Secretariat.

Meanwhile, as  the House prepares to shut down for the weekend, MPs will get their first opportunity to debate the government's bid to crack down on those deemed Not Criminally Responsible, which will be put before the Commons for the first time this morning.

Later this afternoon, members will turn their attention to Bloc Quebecois MP Maria Mourani's private members' campaign against human trafficking.

Outside the precinct, New Democrat Leader Tom Mulcair will take questions -- virtually all of which will likely be on yesterday's surprise floor-crossing by NDP-turned-Bloc Quebecois Claude Patry -- from reporters in Sherbrooke.

Interim Liberal Leader Bob Rae makes his way to Halifax, where he'll pop in on the provincial party's annual general meeting, which is scheduled to get underway this evening.

On Sunday, the eight remaining federal leadership candidates will gather at the historic Pier 21 for the last debate before the cutoff for member/supporter registration.
