With the CNOOC/Nexen merger review now officially underway,
NDP MPs Peter Julian and Helene LeBlanc are set to hit the stage at the
National Press Theatre to reiterate their party's as yet unassuaged
concerns over the takeover bid, as well as the government's handling of
the review process.

- Elsewhere in Ontario, Revenue Minister Gail Shea's cross-country red tape consultation tour hits Sudbury, where she will advise still more unnamed local business owners on the efforts made by her government to reduce the burden thereof, and Kellie Leitch carries out her parliamentary secretary duties during an appearance at Queen's University in Kingston, where she will make "an important announcement" about the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships.
- In Fredericton, ACOA Minister Bernard Valcourt unveils, on behalf of Canadian Heritage Minister James Moore, a new round of federal funding for projects that will "boost the economy and cultural vitality" of New Brunswick.
- Finally, Ministers of State Ted Menzies (Finance) and Diane Ablonczy (Foreign Affairs) will make themselves available to the media in separate teleconferences, during which he will discuss "Canada's economic leadership," and she, her ongoing visit to Brazil.
