Orders of the Day - Happy Centennial, Potato Research Centre!

Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz heads to Fredericton to take part in the spud-related celebrations that will mark the one hundredth anniversary of the Potato Research Centre, and according to the advisory, he won't be arriving empty handed, but will take advantage of the festive occasion to unveil a "new investment" in the local potato sector.

Back on the Hill, Liberal public safety critic Francis Scarpaleggia hits the stage at the National Press Theatre to share his thoughts on government's "failed approach to youth gangs" -- the latest instalment, it seems, in his party's summer-long mission to "focus on youth".

Elsewhere in the capital, Environment Minister Peter Kent will make himself available to discuss the latest emissions trends report as he tours the Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence. According to the advisory, departmental officials will hold a technical briefing at the venue before the minister's appearance.

Also in town: Minister of State for Science Gary Goodyear heads to the University of Ottawa with news on "the mandate and funding" of CANARIE, Canada's Advanced Research and Innovation Network before paying a visit to kinetics scientist Dr. Tony Carlsen's lab, where the minister will "participate in demonstrations" related to its work on "acoustic stimuli triggering spontaneous human reaction."

Moving west, Medicine Hat MP LaVar Payne delivers new funding to support the homeless in Brooks.

Finally, Minister of State for Transport Steven Fletcher will "provide ... an update" on the status of the new plan for long-term public infrastructure funding at a lunch hosted by the Victoria Chamber of Commerce.
