It's official: there is, at least at press time, absolutely nothing --
or, at least, no scheduled events -- going on in Ottawa today, at least
as far as federal politics, so let's go straight to the out-of-town
government good news circuit, shall we?
Conservative MP Jacques Gourde kicks off another day of handing out money to Quebec businesses with a stop in Saint-Hyacinthe to present "funding" to the CTT Group, after which he'll head off to Saint-Germain-de-Grantham with "major contributions" for two more local companies: Carrefour Quebec and Dercro Horticulture Inc.
Meanwhile, International Trade Minister Ed Fast is in Winnipeg, where he will deliver a keynote lunch speak to the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters while elsewhere in the city, Shelly Glover drops by a local immigrant centre with "assistance" for youth.
Also out and about out west:
Finally, a trio of backbench Conservative MPs take part in a series of synchronized announcements related to small craft harbours, with events slated for Pointe-Sapin (Tilly O'Neill Gordon), Selkirk (James Bezan) and Steveston (Kerry-Lynne Findlay).
