@Vikileaks30 Update: Mr. Carroll's lawyer regrets ....

... that, due to continuing health concerns, his client will not be accepting the very kind invitation of the ethics committee to appear before its members to discuss the twitter account in question -- and what's more, he doesn't recognize the summons issued yesterday as legitimate, as it stems from a study that falls outside the mandate of the committee in question. 

(Yes, just like I've been saying all along. At some point, wouldn't it make more sense to listen to me, PMO procedural warfare unit?)    

In any case, according to said lawyer - noted human rights advocate Paul Champ - Carroll will be consulting with his doctor, and hopes to be able to accept the invitation -- but not, note, comply with the summons -- "at the earliest possible date". 

The notice of meeting has already been amended to remove reference to the expected witness, but it wouldn't surprise me if further amendments follow, particularly if the Conservatives want to push the issue by reporting Carroll's refusal to do so back to the House
