Liveblogging the 2012 Liberal Convention

As noted in OotD, the Liberal biennial convention gets underway Friday, and we'll be liveblogging/tweeting throughout the weekend, so follow the #LPC12 ticker for all the latest news and rumours from the convention floor!

The rebuilding festivities kick off this morning with a full slate of delegate-busy-keeping events -- critics corners, open mic sessions and reports from the various party commissions.

At the crack of noon, conventioneers will take their seats for the official opening ceremony, which will be hosted by convention co-chair and local MP Mauril Belanger, and is set to include opening remarks from Interim Leader Bob Rae, as well as various and sundry bits of housekeeping business -- bylaw amendment approval, reports from party executives, that sort of thing.

Later tonight, the party faithful will gather for the welcoming ceremony, which will feature still more remarks from the interim leader, a speech by Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty and the much-anticipated "thank you" from Michael Ignatieff, as well as a presidential candidates' debate.

For more information on what to expect, at least as far as the official schedule, peruse the party-provided program in PDF format. Stay tuned for updates!
