Quebec Liberal candidate Cadieux dies

Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff issued this statement Monday on the passing of Jacques Cadieux, Liberal candidate for the Quebec riding of Roberval-Lac-St-Jean riding:

It is with great sadness that the Liberal Party of Canada learned of the passing of Mr. Jacques Cadieux, Liberal candidate for the riding of Roberval - Lac-St-Jean.

"Jacques Cadieux contributed to public life and served his country, his community and his fellow citizens until the very end," said Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff. "Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones. We offer them our deepest sympathies and share their grief and their sorrow."

Mr. Cadieux leaves behind his wife Éliette Lavertu, his two children, Patrick and Josyanne, and six grand children.
