Inside Politics

The House is in B.C.

As attractive as the milder temperatures of the West Coast might be these days, that's not why The House decided to head to British Columbia this week. It's actually a storm that attracted us to B.C. - a perfect political storm. And it's been raging for months!

The unpopular Harmonized Sales Tax came into effect, the anti-HST movement kept growing, Premier Gordon Campbell tried and failed to rally British Columbians, he resigned, and the leader of the NDP - the official opposition - was forced out . . .. The list goes on.

So here we are, the dominoes of B.C. politics have led us to the most unusual of places: two parties looking for a leader at the same time.

Over the next few days we'll be going to Vancouver, Victoria and Whistler to talk to voters and politicians about what the heck is going on here!

Check out our website at www.cbc.ca/thehouse for exclusive web features throughout the week.

We'll be here until the B.C. Liberals pick a new leader on Sunday.
