UPDATE: It appears that the ads have mysteriously vanished.
... those fresh-from-the-CPC-edit-suite ads, that is, that feature a ... rather unique reimagining of the grand finale of Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff's speech to caucus earlier this week.
Here's what DeLorey had to say when asked whether the new spots will appear on television:
Can't comment on that, we don't discuss the duration, costs, or where ads run.But as for the ads themselves, they are accurate and fair. We are accurately representing his on-the-record and frequently stated positions. He will raise taxes on businesses and he does want an election a soon as possible. He said "Canadians are ready for an election," he's been on a campaign tour, he released his ballot question, he's leased a plane, he's released ads which keep him out of sight...
Here's what Ignatieff actually said about the possibility of an election during that same speech:
"Folks, I don't know when there's going to be any election. Everybody asks -- I spend my life answering that question. I do not know when it's going to come. We are not seeking an election; we are not seeking to provoke an election."
And here's what came before the "Yes! Yes! Yes!" that the Conservatives are doing their best to spin as his Howard Dean moment (apologies for all caps, but grabbed from a transcript):

WHEN YOU ASK THE QUESTION WHICH WE WERE ASKING THIS MORNING: THE QUESTION OF ARE WE READY FOR AN ELECTION: THIS ISN'T A QUESTION ABOUT ORGANIZATION OR PLATFORM OR PLANES OR DETAIL: ALL OF THAT SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD TO ME ACTUALLY.
THERE IS ANOTHER QUESTION; A DEEPER QUESTION: ARE WE READY TO SERVE THE PEOPLE WHO PUT US HERE? ARE WE READY TO FIGHT FOR THE CANADA WE LOVE? ARE WE READY TO FIGHT FOR THE CANADIAN FAMILY? WHAT'S THE ANSWER TO THAT?
YES, YES YES...OUI.
So, "accurate and fair"? Over to you, commenters!
