This weekend on the House

We're doing something a bit different at The House this week.

With the prime minister in Lisbon for a NATO summit at which Afghanistan is going to be one of the main topics of discussion, we thought we'd take a step back to really analyze what Canada's new mission in that country will entail.

We talk to Lawrence Cannon, the foreign affairs minister, from Lisbon... and then get a bit of help from reporter James Cudmore to figure out what exactly Canada is telling its allies behind closed doors.

We also get some valuable insights from former diplomat Gerard Russell and retired Lieutenant General Ken Pennie.

And finally, Kady O'Malley tells us exactly why the government didn't not have the next phase of the mission to a vote in the House of Commons.

Hope you enjoy the show!
