A glimpse inside the Afghan detainee document review process

MP Laurie Hawn posted this photo of a stack the Afghan detainee documents on his Twitter account. (Laurie Hawn)

Hey! Remember that other government crisis? The one from the spring?

The dispute over Afghan detainee documents and the opposition's demand to see the all the documents, even the really really top secret ones.

Well, eventually that crisis got sorted out as well.

That is, the government, the Liberals and the Bloc agreed to appoint one MP to look over the confidential documents to determine if there was any basis to allegations of torture of detainees. The NDP did not sign on to the agreement believing that a panel of experts would limit what the opposition parties would really get to see.

MPs have been working hard over the past number of weeks to see what they can find in the documents.

And the Conservative's designated looker, MP Laurie Hawn tweeted from a non-descript, secret location today, along with a photo to illustrate just how hard he's been working.

Just look at that stack of documents!
