Rights and Democracy: Let the committee hearings begin!
For real this time, even: No pre-witness procedural wrangling or surprise last minute cancellations are expected to preempt tomorrow's appearance by a trio of former R&D staffers -- Charles Vallerand, Marie-France Cloutier and Razmik Panoussian -- fired earlier this month after going public with their concerns over the state of affairs at the embattled rights agency, who will testify alongside representatives from their union.
Oh, and no, I don't know why the committee has only allotted one hour for these witnesses instead of the usual two hour slot, since there's no other business on the agenda. I'll keep you posted on what, if anything, I can find out.
