Okay, remember how I said nothing -- really, most emphatically nothing at all -- was happening on the Hill yesterday? Well, double it -- although what with this being the last Friday before the Christmas-to-New-Years holiday week, it's also the perfect time for a late afternoon news dump.

Then again, with the PM and his entourage in Copenhagen, it's not like he could shuffle his cabinet, prorogue the House - or even hand out a few Yuletide Senate appointments from all the way across the Atlantic, right? (Actually, as far as I know, he can, but that doesn't mean he will.)

Meanwhile, back home, the Liberal vice-chair of the Afghanistan committee is expressing "outrage and disapproval" for Tuesday's non-appearance by Conservative members, and has demanded a written explanation from the chair. No word yet on whether he's gotten a reply, or, for that matter, if the opposition parties are planning to try again.

Seriously, that seems to be it. Feel free to chat amongst yourselves -- and don't forget to check out Colleague McGregor's fabulously festive gallery of political Christmas cards. Oh, and PMO? I was just kidding about the news dump. Please don't feel you have to deliver.
