John McCain says he regrets the Canadian decision to pull out of Afghanistan in 2011.
The Republican senator and former U.S. presidential candidate is a guest on Power & Politics with Evan Solomon at 5 p.m. ET Friday.
"I regret the decision that the Canadian government and people to leave Afghanistan but I respect it and I appreciate the services they have rendered," said McCain in a pre-taped segment from Halifax.
McCain says he regrets the Canadian pullout because "they are great fighters, great allies and they contributed enormously to the cause and the effort there."
