Join members of the CBC parliamentary bureau for a live discussion during Wednesday's Question Period in the House of Commons starting at 2 p.m. ET.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Stephen Harper faced questions for the first time on the explosive testimony of former top diplomat Richard Colvin, who claimed his concerns over the possible torture of Afghan prisoners transferred by Canadian soldiers to Afghan custody in 2006 and 2007 were ignored by top government and military officials and that the government may have tried to cover up the issue.
The prime minister went on the offensive, accusing the opposition of trying to muzzle other key officials, including David Mulroney, Colvin's boss at the time, from testifying at the Afghanistan committee.
Opposition MPs contend they do not want to hear from Mulroney yet, saying they want the government to release documents related to the torture allegations before he appears.
