Let a thousand oversized cheque presentations bloom!

A collage of oversized government cheque presentations assembled by the Liberal
Research Bureau's Ben Parsons.

So it turns out that the Economic Action! Plan ad campaign, website, and even all those CPC-logo-festooned cheques are all totally legit, as far as Treasury Board and PCO are concerned.
What does this mean as far as the Liberals' beloved Cheque Republic campaign? Beats me -- but it was definitely a good day for the government. What I still don't quite understand, however, is why they picked this particular venue -- a meeting of one of the least covered committees on the Hill the same afternoon that the Auditor General released her fall report -- to yank the rug out from under the opposition without tipping off at least a few media outlets that it might be worth tuning in.

Then again, at least they managed to get the message out to the much-coveted liveblog-reading demographic. Speaking of which, if you missed out on the blow-by-blow coverage, you can always replay it. It's just like being there, except you can skim through the boring bits.
