Protesters: The NDP writes...

My colleague Rosemary Barton forwards this statement from the NDP, in response to allegations they were connected to yesterday's Question Period disruption.

The protest was not organized or endorsed by the NDP.

Joe Cressy is an environment activist, and as many environment activists, he joined the NDP because it is the best political vehicle to make progress on environmental issues.

This does not preclude the fact that, as environmental activists, they do their own thing with other groups that are not affiliated [by] the NDP.

 

Rosemary also notes that Jeh Custer, whose 15 minutes of fame have certainly been helped along in this space, works for the Sierra Club in the West.

The Sierra Club's Steven Hazell yesterday confirmed one of his employees was arrested... but said the Sierra Club had nothing to do with it.
