The Liberal Party will launch its platform Sunday morning as the federal election campaign moves into its second week.

A news release from the party says Leader Michael Ignatieff will release the platform in a live online townhall where he'll take questions from virtual participants. The release says it's the first launch of its kind.

Ignatieff released some of his proposals this week, including $500 million a year for new childcare spaces and RESP contributions for college and university students.

The Liberals have spent two years developing the policies to be announced Sunday, the news release said, through the 2009 Liberal convention, the 2010 Canada at 150 conference and in policy sessions they held last spring.
