Political History

In 2000, Martin knocked off Liberal challenger Alan Thompson by 12,446 votes. Early in 2004, Martin joined the Liberals. In the election that year, he defeated New Democrat Randall Garrison by 2,568 votes. Martin beat Garrison again the 2006 race.
In the 2008 election, Martin just held on to beat Conservative candidate Troy DeSouza, by a margin of only 68 votes.
