This riding on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River contains the southwest corner of the island of Montreal. It is hemmed on three sides by water with Lac-St-Louis in the south, Lac des Deux Montagnes in the west and Rivière des Prairies in the north. The rest of the border runs from Rivière des Prairies along Boulevard Jacques Bizard, the border of the former Dollard des Ormeaux and Boulevard des Sources.

In 2004, nine per cent from Pierrefonds-Dollard have been added in the northwest. This riding was established as Lachine riding in 1976 from portions of Lachine-Bord-du-Lac and Vaudreuil ridings.
