Located on New Brunswick's western border, this riding includes the communities of Grand Falls, Perth-Andover, Hartland, Woodstock, Saint-André and Drummond, as well as the Tobique, Kingsclear and Woodstock First Nation reserves.

Tobique-Mactaquac was created in 1996 by combining portions of Madawaska-Victoria, Carleton-Charlotte, Fredericton-York Sunbury and Miramichi. About 6,000 residents have been added from New Brunswick Southwest.

Population: 68,352 (2006 census; a decrease of 2.5% since 2001)

Political History

In 2008, Conservative Mike Allen held the seat, defeating Liberal Sally McGrath by 11,247 votes. Allen had won the seat over Liberal incumbent Andy Savoy in a photo finish in 2006, taking the riding by just 254 votes.

In 2004, Savoy held the office he gained in 2000 when he unseated incumbent Tory Gilles Bernier by just 147 votes. Bernier, in turn, had knocked off Liberal MP Pierrette Ringuette-Maltais in 1993.
