Vitaminwater: Do you watch how much sugar you drink?

Vitaminwater, the trendy flavoured drink touted as "delicious and nutritious", has been barred from using the "nutritious" claim by Britain's advertising watchdog due to the product's sugar content.

Following complaints from consumers, the UK Advertising Standards Authority ruled that the Coca-Cola owned brand was misleading the public with the "nutritious" label, as each 500mL bottle contains 23g of sugar - the equivalent of about four or five teaspoons.

According to Vitaminwater's Canadian website, the drink "helps to keep your body healthy through a combination of key vitamins and nutrients," specifically vitamins B and C.
