An amino cocktail helps mice live longer: How do you do it?

Scientists have discovered a combination of amino acids that they say has proven to increase the length of a mouse's life by 12 per cent, the Telegraph reported.

The mice studied lived significantly longer than other mice fed a normal diet. The mice given the mixture lived for an average of 869 days, whereas untreated mice live for an average of 774 days. The treated mice had more stamina and increased muscle co-ordination.

Based on laboratory experiments where the mixture of amino acids was mixed into drinking water for middle-aged healthy mice, scientists are suggesting that this same technique could help humans, especially the elderly or ill, in the same way.
