Movie piracy sentence: Does the punishment fit the crime?

A Montreal man the FBI once called Canada's biggest movie pirate was sentenced to 2½ months behind bars on Tuesday for pirating and illegally distributing copyrighted material on the internet.

Geremi Adam, 27, pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing high-quality, pirated copies of Hollywood film productions.

Adam is the first Canadian sentenced to jail for breaking cinematic copyright under the country's revamped laws.
