Road to disarmament

On July 28, 2005, the Irish Republican Army (IRA) ordered an end to its armed struggle against British rule in Northern Ireland.

It's been a long road leading up to this announcement and the 1998 Good Friday Agreement to maintain a ceasefire and establish a power-sharing government in the region. Here's a look at some of the events in the past seven years.
