A domestic feline at the Thompson Humane Society has been nursing three abandoned puppies along with her own four kittens, officials say.
Momma Cat, as she has been dubbed, took on the added nursing responsibilities after the puppies came into the shelter earlier this month.
Two of the pups didn't survive but it wasn't for lack of trying by the feline mother, said shelter spokesman Oswald Sawh.
He said the pups were taken from their mother too early and had weak immune systems.
"Wonderful thing to see," said Sawh. "I think it's a lesson to all of us as well. When you see things like that it truly reinforces your wonder of nature."
Sawh says the cat is continuing to support the one puppy who remains.
