After winning the Republican presidential nomination with a win in Texas Tuesday night, Mitt Romney is ready to create “A Better Amercia.” That’s right Amercia.
A new iPhone app released by the Romney campaign Tuesday night misspells the word America. The “I’m with Mitt" app allows iPhone users to post pictures of themselves under 14 different slogans with one of them being: “A Better Amercia.”
Users can then post the photo directly to Facebook or Twitter or email it to a friend.
The friend receives a message reading, "I'm with Mitt Romney in 2012. And here's a photo showing my support. Check it out!"
The typo has been mocked across the internet, trending on Twitter and with various photo posts on Tumblr.
One Twitter user wrote: "While #Amercia does have a nice ring to it, Romney's developers of 'his' app may want to begin looking for new jobs."
Another wrote: "Whew, I hear Mitt's updating that misspelled Amercia on his app. He's just going with Untied States now."
And one Twitter user kept it simple, writing, "AMERCIA TEH BUETIFLU."
A spokesman for the Romney campaign says a corrected app has been sent to Apple.
“Mistakes happen,” Andrea Saul told MSNBC.
