Doping scandals plague Tour de France history
Several controversies taint top finishes over past 15 years

American cyclist Lance Armstrong, who was recently stripped of his seven Tour de France titles, steered what the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency deemed the "most sophisticated" doping conspiracy ever in sports.
While Armstrong's fall is notable, several other Tour cyclists have been caught up in doping controversies since the mid-'90s. Click on a year in the tree below to see the top five finishers at each race; hover over athelete names to read more.
