March to the top: Injured vets to climb Himalayan peak

On Oct. 7, 2012, a group of wounded Canadian veterans and civilians will arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal, and begin a trek to summit Island Peak (6,188 m), a mountain near Everest in the Himalayas.

Accompanied by a CBC documentary crew, expedition leader and filmmaker Ben Webster will lead the men and women through the glaciers and valleys of Sagarmatha National Park.

In the tour below, fly over the expedition's route, stopping at key sites as the soldiers forge their way to Everest Base Camp and climb to the top of Island Peak.
