Ladybugs: Spotting the difference

The population of the North American ladybug, of which there are dozens of species, has dwindled in recent decades. Scientists have linked the decrease to the expansion of the Asian ladybug population, and initiatives such as the Lost Ladybug Project are asking people to look for and photograph ladybugs so they can determine where North American species are still present.
