Air Canada has released a travel update and FAQ with information and tips to help ensure a smooth travel experience in case of a labour disruption. If call centre and airport customer service agents walk off the job, Air Canada will continue to operate a full flight schedule. The following steps will help you avoid long wait times at the call center and queues at airport check-in kiosks, and expedite airport processes:
Check-in
- Check in online or via your mobile device up to 24 hours before your flight to avoid longer than usual lineups
- Review tutorial on self-service check-in tools
- Arrive at the airport in advance of check-in deadlines
Flight status
- Check your flight status online instead of calling to avoid long wait times
- Use self-serve delayed and cancelled flight service to rebook your delayed or cancelled flights
Baggage and travel documents
- If at all possible, avoid travelling with checked baggage
- Familiarize yourself with carry-on baggage rules, travel requirements and regulations for international flights
